Ranch Roping and Horsemanship Clinic with Iain Davis

"Iain is a good hand and he is good with his horses.  He's your resource when I'm not around" Buck Brannaman 2009

Come ride with Iain Davis, a working ranch cowboy who does this for real.  On April 25th and 26th, the Double Diamond T Ranch in Winslow, AR will host a two day clinic offering horsemanship in the morning and ranch roping in the afternoon.

The horsemanship class will focus on developing complete control of your horse through simple, yet precise maneuvers to help keep your horse soft, supple and responsive.  It is designed for green horses or older horses needing refinement.  Vaquero style horsemanship is based on the practical application of classical dressage principles. Riders of all backgrounds will benefit.

The ranch roping class will cover quiet, efficient roping methods for working cattle. Iain is the premier reata-style roper in the region, and founder of the Northeast Oklahoma Ranch Roping Association.  Beginning with the basics, each participant will have the opportunity to progress according to their own abilities.  The class will offer experienced ropers challenges to perfect loops, positioning and accuracy.  Many of the principles covered in the horsemanship class will be put to use roping cattle out of a herd quietly and safely.

The host facility has a covered arena in the event of inclement weather and stalls are available for those who would like to overnight.  For more information, please contact: Marsha at (479) 634-3433 or ddtranch@yahoo.com.  Visit Iain’s website: www.iaindavis.com
