WORK LOCATION: Iberia Research Station, Jeanerette, LA
POSITION DESCRIPTION: A 12-month, full-time position (100%) is available at the Iberia Research Station. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, together with the faculty member, all activities related to ruminant nutrition research conducted in the field and laboratory. Activities include field data collection, analysis (both laboratory and statistical analyses) and technical reporting of ruminant nutrition research data. Additional responsibilities are serving as unit safety coordinator and assisting in management of animal and pasture resources.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Agronomy or related discipline. Training and experience in beef or dairy cattle, pasture management and laboratory techniques are required. Applicant should possess the ability to work cooperatively with other professional staff and to skillfully supervise support staff. Proficiency in quantitative methods and computer applications commonly used in the field of nutrition is desirable.
