UA Cali as a yearling in 2003
Dear Dr. Jack,

Quick, fun update on a mare by Boeskoolboy and a product of the UA breeding program: Serendipity went to her first rated show this weekend in Bellville, Texas and was a really good girl, other than entertaining herself by over-jumping everything. I think she was offended she wasn't in the 3 foot class!  She is just under 16H, and about 1200+ pounds now, so she is as big and stout as her lineage would imply. I like to say that she got the hind end of her dam, the elegance and build of her sire, and a great blend in the brain of both - smart and sane with a great work ethic.

1480033-1139257-thumbnail.jpgShe was sold by UA as a long yearling, hung out and grew up in a pasture for about 9 months, and I bought her 3 months past her second birthday. She came to me knowing how to tie, lead, have her feet handled, be medicated, halter, wear a bridle and saddle and clip. She has been excellent to train and quick to learn. I am an adult amateur who has ridden for 15 years but never started one on my own, so it was great to start with one that had her basics so well "installed."  She was a breeze to start and has been wonderful since. She is a good size, very athletic, smart, calm in new situations and very happy in her work.

1480033-1139261-thumbnail.jpgI have to laugh that you mentioned that Boeskoolboy offspring love to over jump. No matter what height I jump her, she over jumps by a good two feet. I kept thinking this would go away, as she isn't spooky just very careful, but it seems this will be ongoing! During the warm up for the show, she got a weird spot to an oxer and jumped so high she cleared the 4 foot standards, per my coach!  She'll be my 4 foot hunter once she's ready.  We registered UA Cali with the American Warmblood Society as Serendipity JW.  We show in the hunters.

My budget unfortunately is only big enough for once special horse, and she's not headed anywhere. :) I will, though, as I have in the past, recommend the auction to friends and family, as you produce some really nice horses.
