UA Time To Play (Eli)We bought Eli (UA Time to Play is his registered name) as a weanling at the 2004 Razorback Roundup. His sire was Play Acting out of Playgirl's Conclusion and Sister Act, and his dam was Tonya's Cactus Girl who was also sold in the sale the same year. At the time of the sale, Eli could carry a bit, pony saddle with a dummy, do an obstacle course and load in a trailer. We continued his ground work at home and by 18 months could work him in a round pen, saddle him, put on a bridle, sit on him, load him and have his feet trimmed by the farrier.

Quick, fun update on a mare by Boeskoolboy and a product of the UA breeding program: Serendipity went to her first rated show this weekend in Bellville, Texas and was a really good girl, other than entertaining herself by over-jumping everything. I think she was offended she wasn't in the 3 foot class! She is just under 16H, and about 1200+ pounds now, so she is as big and stout as her lineage would imply. I like to say that she got the hind end of her dam, the elegance and build of her sire, and a great blend in the brain of both - smart and sane with a great work ethic.

The arrival of this year's Razorback Roundup invitation has motivated me to write this letter. My husband and I attended our first Razorback Roundup three years ago. We heard about it through our friend, Rex Blizzard, who puts on a wonderful tack auction at the event. He said that it was a very different type of auction, which had incredible pedigree horses that came with their own, if you will, background check.

Field Trip to Jac's Ranch Elite Angus auction! Students of the D.E. King Equine Program attended the Annual Family Tradition Sale at the ranch headquarters in Bentonville, AR. this semester The field trip was arranged to help prepare students for the upcoming Razorback Roundup Horse Sale, an auction being produced by the students of Equine Behavior and Training as well as Horse and Livestock Merchandising.
