You asked for it and we heard you! The New Trail Rider Ultra includes the comfort and quality features that made this style so popular. The Trail Ride Ultra offers the most options in size, length, knee patch or full seat and is available in a variety of warm and cool weather fabrics.

This fall, Smooth Stride is prepared for the cold, wet riding season. Try a pair made with Polartec® Wind Pro®. This fabric is extremely breathable yet provides 4x more wind resistance than traditional fleece. The durable water repellent outer surface sheds rain and snow. Velour or pebbled back efficiently traps air and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio. Both surfaces of these fabrics are finished for maximum durability and pill-free performance. They retain their insulating ability and original appearance after repeated use and laundering. This fabric option comes with a full, genuine suede seat for extra warmth and grip. Available in regular or tall length.

Upgrades:

Smooth Stride's new comfort fit design: a scooped cut borrowed from bike shorts. The pants are now cut higher in the back and slightly lower in the front. This allows you to bend and sit without exposing too much! This new design keeps the pants securely in place as you bend over, dismount or when seated in the saddle. We also streamlined the waist and hips to accommodate the 4-way stretch fabric, so as the fabric relaxes you have a more secure fit.
Our popular Dryline fabric is now available in taupe and black, plus we upgraded to a denser weave that holds its shape better. Dryline was created by athletic companies and is a unique, dual-component fabric featuring a hydrophobic fiber inside and a hydrophilic fiber outside. It is exceptional for wicking moisture away from the skin and allows fabric to breath on those hot summer rides.
Do you want to carry a few items, but don't need the bulk of a five pocket jean? We added a runner's pocket. A small, mesh pocket is sewn into the front left waistband. This is perfect for Chapstick, cell phone, pocket knife, but it won't create bulky material folds like traditional jean pockets.

Smooth Stride riding wear was designed to fit over a boot. The Trail Rider Ultra is now available in boot cut (will fit over a Western boot) or straight leg (meant to be worn with paddock boots or half chaps). The original Trail Rider, if purchased between 11/05 and 10/06 is the boot cut style, anything after 11/06 is the straight leg style. We had so many requests for both cuts, that now you can choose the pants that fit your boot best.
Regular 32 inch inseam or a 38 inch extra length inseam. The extra length will not have a bottom hem so you can make it exactly the right length to fit any long-legged ladies!
